The position targets early-career professionals, with relocation assistance and a strong emphasis on ecological restoration, native plant propagation, and sustainable land management.

Qualifications

• 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with plant identification is essential.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assess land to be revegetated and build prescriptions and plans with the senior plant specialist.
• Assist with native seed/cuttings collection, field identification, contractor supervision, harvesting, and legal documentation.
• Support planning for native plant propagation, including supplier communication and inventory tracking.
• Coordinate tree and shrub planting logistics, ensuring proper execution and species selection.
• Conduct field surveys to assess vegetation establishment and support adaptive management.
• Collaborate with water resource and geotechnical engineers to integrate vegetation into reclamation designs.
• Lead the reclamation monitoring program focusing on plant community development toward end land use.
• Maintain records of seed sources, planting locations, and survival rates.
• Collaborate with senior vegetation specialists, reclamation coordinators, and team members.
