Job summary

Manurep Sales Inc. in Hamilton, Ontario seeks an experienced automation engineer to program and commission PLC/HMI systems across Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and Omron, and to design electrical schematics. You will travel to client sites in the U.S. and beyond to support commissioning and service.

You will build UL control panels to CSA/ESA/OHSA standards and drive safety with LOTO protocols while reading schematics and wiring diagrams. This role offers growth in a hands-on, entrepreneurial team.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering or Electrical/PLC Technology.
• 3+ years in industrial automation (PLC/HMI programming).
• Experience with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens or Omron.
• Panel building and wiring with UL/CSA/ESA/OHSA knowledge.
• Comfort reading schematics and control wiring diagrams.
• Willingness to travel to the U.S. (and overseas).
• Bonus: VB, C, or Java programming.

Responsibilities

• Program and commission PLC/HMI systems across multiple brands.
• Write ladder logic, function block, and structured text.
• Design electrical schematics and panel drawings.
• Build UL control panels to CSA/ESA/OHSA standards.
• Travel to client sites across the U.S. for commissioning and support.
• Diagnose machine, PLC, and HMI issues—on-site and in-house.
• Improve cycle times and throughput based on customer feedback.
• Provide support by phone, email, and in person.
• Maintain version-controlled program backups and clear documentation.
• Write operating manuals and startup procedures.
• Champion LOTO and safety protocols on every job.
