Job summary

Stantec is expanding its field archaeology team and seeks enthusiastic, entry- to intermediate-level candidates. Projects span provinces and industries, with a contract basis and potential for renewal into regular, full-time roles for the right candidate.

Qualified applicants are expected to contribute to field surveys, recording sites, and collaboration with Indigenous communities, while supporting safety and field operations across multiple locations in Canada.

Qualifications

• Interest in cultural resource management is essential.
• Willingness to learn identification of traditional use sites, CMTs and lithic artifacts.
• Willingness to learn mapping, pedestrian surveys, subsurface testing, excavation and data collection.
• Experience in Cultural Resource Management is not required but would be an asset.
• Committed to following a strong safety culture.

Responsibilities

• Identify and record areas of archaeological potential and sites.
• Work with Field Director to make technical recommendations for CRM.
• Engage with Indigenous representatives and stakeholders.
• Collect field data.
• Assist in preliminary field reconnaissance and impact assessments.
• Assist in monitoring and excavations.
• Manage field equipment.
• Adhere to company policies and HSSE programs.
• Participate in Stantec’s HSSE programs.
