Job summary

EnerSys is seeking a Field Applications Engineer to support the reliability and performance of battery‑buffered DC fast charging and energy storage systems deployed in the field. You will work with service teams, engineering, and operations to troubleshoot complex hardware, software, firmware, and networking issues while traveling ~30% (including international trips).

The role blends embedded systems, power electronics, data analytics, and interoperability testing across multiple vehicle

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and programming languages such as C and C++.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills with structured troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve reliability, availability, and performance of deployed battery‑buffered DC fast charging stations.
• Collaborate with EnerSys Service team to resolve issues.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, firmware, communications, networking, and system‑level issues affecting charger operation.
• Lead or support root‑cause investigations into downtime, faults, and degraded performance.
• Perform EV interoperability and compatibility testing across different vehicle manufacturers and models.
• Develop metrics, dashboards, and analytical methods for charger uptime and fault analysis.
• Document investigations, causes, actions, and lessons learned to improve the charging platform.
