Job summary

Paladin Security seeks a Full-Time Security Guard for Yorkville Village, Toronto. The role requires alertness, outdoor patrols, and strong client communication to maintain safety and protect property in a premium mixed-use district.

This position requires Ontario security licensure, First Aid/CPR Level C, English fluency, and 1 year in security or related fields. Onboarding includes UOF/MOAB certification training with a 6-month commitment.

Qualifications

• Valid Ontario Security License
• First Aid & CPR Level C certification
• English fluency (oral and written) is required
• Minimum 1 year experience in security, law enforcement or related field
• Legally eligible to work in Canada
• Must provide Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certifications
• UOF/MOAB certification not paid, Paladin covers costs with 6‑month commitment

Responsibilities

• Be alert and observant while stationed outside, standing or walking in all weather.
• Maintain communications with security team, dispatchers, client personnel and Paladin staff.
• Ensure site staff comply with Paladin policies and procedures.
• Complete mobile patrols diligently.
• Document and investigate security incidents and complaints.
• Communicate concerns with Supervisor/Client Service Manager or client.
• Represent Paladin and Yorkville Village professionally to protect reputation.
• Perform security duties per procedures and within applicable laws.
• Record discrepancies, hazards and take corrective action where possible.
• Be courteous and enforce all policies and regulations.
• Respond promptly to emergencies per established procedures.

Site Description: Yorkville Village, managed by First Capital, is a premier mixed-use property at the prominent Yonge and Bloor intersection in Toronto’s Bloor-Yorkville neighborhood. This open-air retail destination features flagship tenants including Nike, Mango, and Chick-fil-A. Easily accessible by transit, car, or foot, it is surrounded by vibrant cafés, restaurants, and upscale retailers in one of Canada’s busiest urban hubs.

Position: Full Time Security Guard

Pay Rate: $19.00/hr.

Schedule: Monday - Friday (0000-0800)

OT Method: Overtime is Employment Standards Act

Key Responsibilities:

• Being alert and observant while being outside, standing or walking for an extended period in all weather conditions (Rain, Snow, Excessive Heat & Cold…etc.)
• always Maintain communications with fellow Security Guard/dispatchers, Cliental and Paladin Managerial Staff.
• Ensures all site staff adhere to all Paladin Security policies and procedures
• Completing mobile patrols diligently
• Documents and investigates security incidents and complaints
• Communicates any concerns/issues with Supervisor/Client Service Manager or the client
• Always Maintain the highest standard of security, being professional in attitude, appearance and application
• Represent Paladin Security, Yorkville Village and their respected customers in such a way as to enhance the quality, image and reputation
• Perform security duties in accordance with established procedures. Ensure they are being conducted within the limitations of any federal, provincial and municipal laws
• Be observant and record all discrepancies, deficiencies and safety hazards/concerns noted during patrols and take corrective action either informing the applicable department or handling it personally, whenever possible
• Be courteous, and helpful in enforcing all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations
• Respond immediately to any emergency and co-ordinate response accordingly based off established procedures

Prerequisites:

• Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
• Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
• English (oral and written) fluency is a must
• Previous one year experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
• Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certification program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
• Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
