Job summary

Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc seeks a Family Support Worker to assist children and families, promoting safe, healthy, and caring environments. You will provide consultative social work services within Community Services and work closely with partner agencies to support child development, family engagement, and culture.

Qualifications include a Social Work or Child & Youth Care degree, a valid Driver’s license, and a clear background check.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or Child and Youth Care with 2 years related experience.
  • Must have a current valid Class 5 Driver’s License and own reliable vehicle.
  • Must pass a Child Care Criminal Record Check.

Responsibilities

  • Assess needs and provide services to families per approved practices and guidelines.
  • Refer children, youth and families to services and assist access.
  • Provide information on child development, parenting, culture and community.
  • Collaborate with SCFS and MCFD on child protection concerns.
  • Maintain detailed, confidential client files and documentation.
