St. John Hospital in Vanderhoof, BC seeks a family physician with anesthesia support to join a collaborative team. Flexible models include part-time, shared group, anesthesia-only, and contracts for anesthesia, primary care, hospital, and ED coverage.

The role offers in-house simulation, opportunities for elective surgery (Gynecology, ENT, Plastics, Orthopedics, General Surgery), and FP specialists to support clinical and academic activities in a rural setting.

The successful candidate will have flexible options to fit your needs such as part-time, shared group models, anesthesia only, anesthesia/emergency department coverage or perhaps anesthesia, primary care clinic, hospital and emergency. The team is open to suggestions and happy to work with you to create the best model.
There are opportunities for varied elective slates including Gynecology, ENT, Plastics, visiting Orthopedics, and General Surgery. With regular in-house simulation activities and educational opportunities, there are many options to grow in your desired areas of clinical and academic interests. Outside the OR, the FPA services are utilized in the ER for sedation, critical care, and obstetrical services as well.
This team of FP’s and FP specialists work in a collaborative team to support each other in clinical and academic activities to provide the best level of patient care in the North. This opportunity would be excellent for a new graduate seeking rural experience because of the added benefit and support of FP specialists and technology that most rural hospitals do not have.
