Dawson Creek BC is seeking an experienced Family Practice-Anesthetist (FPA) to provide advanced skills Anesthesia. Option to also practice full-scope Family Medicine or ER, if desired. The community has several Family Medicine clinics, all working cooperatively and providing a full spectrum of patient services.

Core specialties available: Orthopedic Surgery, General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, plus visiting specialists. Other advanced skills opportunities, in addition to Anesthesia, include Oncology, Maternity and Emergency.

Dawson Creek And District Hospital Is a Full Service Community Hospital That Provides Service To Dawson Creek And Surrounding Communities. It Has 31 Acute Care Beds And 15 Regional Adult Psychiatric Beds. The Emergency Room Sees 22,000+ Visits Per Year.

Compensation Type Fee-for-Service Estimated Remuneration $350,000+

Benefits and Incentives

• Vacation Leave Regular May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including:
• Retention Premium 23.10%
• Retention Flat Fee $35,798
• Relocation Funding Available $9,000 - $15,000 (TBD)
• Recruitment Incentive $20,000
• Other Benefits/Incentives MOCAP (Medical On Call Availability Program) available on top of MSP billings.
• REEF (Rural Emergency Enhancement Funding) available when covering ER shifts - this is on top of MSP billings and MOCAP payments.
• Rural Education Action Plan (REAP) available.
• Rural Continuing Medical Education (RCME) available.
• Relocation funding available: $15,000 if relocating from outside of Canada; $12,000 if relocating within Canada but outside of BC; $9,000 if relocating within BC.
• Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) funding is subject to change without notice.
