Job summary

GR Baker Memorial Hospital in Quesnel, BC, is seeking a Family Physician with a geriatric focus to join a community-focused medical team. The role offers flexible work arrangements, with 0.5 FTE or 1.0 FTE options and opportunities in UPCC, oncology, ER, OAT, and locums.

New-to-practice physicians are welcomed and supported with transition resources and flexible remuneration models, in a scenic rural setting in the Cariboo region.

Role and Facility Information

Northern Health is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Physician to join our vibrant medical team in Quesnel, BC, with a focus on geriatric care. This role involves providing comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and care planning for older adults in our community. We are especially interested in candidates who hold a Certificate of Added Competence in Care of the Elderly or have equivalent experience working with seniors. Your expertise will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our aging population.

Physicians can choose to work at 0.5 FTE or expand to a full 1.0 FTE by combining geriatric care with other exciting opportunities in the community. These include shifts at the Urgent and Primary Care Centre (UPCC), Family Practice Oncology (with potential funding for training), Emergency Room coverage, Surgical Assists, OAT clinic work (training support available), and short-term community locums. This flexibility allows you to shape your practice to match your interests and lifestyle.

New-to-practice physicians are warmly welcomed and supported through a variety of transition resources to ensure a smooth and enjoyable start. We offer flexible remuneration models, including contract-based payment, to help ease your entry into practice and support your professional goals.

The 27 million dollar expansion to GR Baker Memorial Hospital's Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit has now been completed. Benefits and Incentives

• Vacation Leave 6-8 weeks annually, including CME
• May be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA)
• Retention Premium 14.70%
• Retention Flat Fee $22,781
• Relocation Funding Available $up to $15,000
• Recruitment Incentive $20,000
• Other Benefits/Incentives Relocation: $15,000 if relocating from outside of Canada
• $12,000 if relocating within Canada but outside of BC
• $9,000 if relocating within BC.
• Recruitment Incentive will be prorated for part-time.
