  • Draft pleadings, motions, petitions, notices, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and legal correspondence.

  • Prepare financial affidavits, mandatory disclosures, asset and liability schedules, and supporting documentation.

  • Document Management and Discovery: Collect, organize, review, and prepare documents for discovery and production.

  • Review financial records, including bank statements, tax returns, pay records, business records, and property documents.

  • Prepare case summaries, chronologies, exhibits, and supporting materials to help attorneys assess case facts and prepare legal arguments.

  • Litigation and Court Coordination: Prepare documentation and case materials for hearings, mediations, depositions, and trials.

  • Coordinate hearings, depositions, mediations, conferences, and other case-related events.

  • Track court deadlines, discovery timelines, hearing dates, and important case milestones to support timely compliance.

  • Prepare and submit court filings through applicable electronic filing systems.

  • Assist attorneys with legal and factual research related to family law matters.

  • Client and Stakeholder Communication: Communicate directly with clients to gather information, collect documentation, provide case updates, and coordinate next steps.

  • Liaise professionally with opposing counsel, courts, experts, mediators, and other parties involved in proceedings.

  • Handle sensitive or high-conflict matters with discretion, empathy, and professionalism.

  • Case Administration and Confidentiality: Maintain accurate, organized digital case files and update information in legal case management systems.

  • Follow established firm procedures, maintain confidentiality, and uphold high standards of accuracy and documentation quality.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate has substantial legal experience, practical knowledge of U.S. family law litigation, and the ability to manage complex case documentation and deadlines independently. Strong communication skills and sound judgment are essential, particularly when working with clients navigating sensitive personal and financial matters. Required qualifications include:

  • At least 5 years of professional experience as a paralegal, lawyer, or attorney.

  • At least 2 years of experience working as a family law paralegal for a law firm in the United States.

  • Strong hands-on experience supporting U.S. family law matters, including divorce, custody, child support, alimony, paternity, or related proceedings.

  • Demonstrated experience drafting family law pleadings, motions, discovery documents, and legal correspondence.

  • Experience reviewing and organizing financial records, mandatory disclosures, asset schedules, and liability documentation.

  • Strong understanding of litigation deadlines, court filing requirements, and family court procedures.

  • Experience preparing cases for hearings, mediations, depositions, and trials.

  • Proven ability to work directly with U.S. attorneys and clients.

  • Excellent legal drafting, research, and document preparation skills.

  • Experience with legal case management software and electronic court filing systems.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 or comparable cloud-based business tools.

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
