Job summary

Envision Counselling & Support Centre is seeking a qualified counsellor to provide counselling and support to individuals, couples, children, youth and families in a supportive team.

You will develop client-centered service plans, facilitate sessions, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with schools and healthcare partners to support families through transitions and challenges.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in counselling, social work or related field.
  • Experience in human services and counselling/support services.
  • Knowledge of grief, family dynamics, crisis intervention.

Responsibilities

  • Provide counselling to individuals, couples, children, youth and families.
  • Develop collaborative service plans based on client needs and goals.
  • Facilitate individual, family and group sessions.
  • Maintain case notes, documentation and reports.
  • Collaborate with schools, healthcare providers and community partners.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide counselling and support to individuals, couples, children, youth, and families.
  • Develop collaborative service plans based on clients unique needs and goals.
  • Support families with:
  • -Couples/marital and blended-family challenges
  • -Parent-child conflict and parenting concerns
  • -Child/adolescent behavioural concerns
  • -Family crises, grief, and loss
  • -Co-parenting challenges
  • -Significant life transitions and changes
  • Facilitate individual, family, and group sessions.
  • Maintain accurate, timely case notes, documentation, and reports.
  • Collaborate with schools, healthcare providers, community partners, and other agencies.
  • Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development.
Qualifications & Attributes
  • Post-secondary education in counselling, social work, psychology, or a related human services field, with relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the human services sector and counselling/support services.
  • Experience with grief and loss, parent-child conflict, child/adolescent behaviours, couples counselling, crisis intervention, and group facilitation.
  • Strong knowledge of counselling theories and approaches, with a client-centred, strengths-based approach.
  • Excellent communication, organization, interpersonal, and technology skills.
  • Collaborative, professional, dependable, adaptable, and positive team player.
  • Strong judgment, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Valid drivers licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
