Job summary

Unilever Canada, Rexdale manufacturing site, is hiring a Continuous Improvement Engineer to turn data and hands-on problem solving into practical improvements on the factory floor.

You will partner with production and maintenance to reduce losses, boost equipment reliability, and standardize work. This role is ideal for a recent engineering graduate or early-career professional seeking hands-on manufacturing experience and measurable impact on safety, quality, and cost.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• 0-2+ years in continuous improvement, manufacturing, or packaging.
• Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills.
• Ability to use data to identify patterns and actions.
• Clear written and verbal communication and collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

• Analyze production downtime, material waste, changeover losses, and process performance data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Investigate manufacturing problems, identify root causes, and support practical solutions that can be sustained by the team.
• Apply continuous improvement and lean manufacturing methods to eliminate waste, reduce operational losses, and improve line performance.
• Build knowledge of processing and packaging equipment while developing hands-on troubleshooting capabilities.
• Develop clear technical standards, standard work instructions, and simple tools that help teams maintain stable, repeatable processes.
• Partner with production and maintenance colleagues during improvement activities, encouraging ideas and input from the people closest to the work.
• Provide practical coaching to help colleagues use structured problem-solving and continuous improvement methods.
• Manage small improvement projects from initial idea through implementation, follow-up, and sustainment.
