Job summary

Located at our Corunna Facility, GFL Environmental Inc. operates in the Ontario Onsite division, delivering environmental and industrial services including tank cleaning, dredging, dewatering, water treatment and waste processing on customer sites year-round.

Responsibilities include safe waste processing, loading/unloading, ensuring compliance with protocols, operating mobile processing equipment, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

  • Ability to perform moderately labour intensive and repetitious tasks.
  • Physically fit with the ability to lift +50lbs and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Mechanically inclined; knowledge of pumps and process equipment is an asset.
  • Excellent communication skills; strong planning and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems; able to work independently and in a team.

Job description

Located out of our Corunna Facility, Operators in GFL’s Ontario Onsite division are part of a specialized group responsible for completing a variety of environmental and industrial services, including tank cleaning, dredging, dewatering, water treatment and waste processing. This work is completed year-round, using mobile equipment directly on customer sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure waste is processed in a timely and safe manner
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of trucks and containers
  • Ensure incoming and outgoing waste conforms with acceptance protocol
  • Operation of mobile processing machinery and equipment and troubleshoot any processing issues
  • Ensure safe operation and procedures are followed at all times
  • Complete paperwork properly & ensure it is submitted on time
  • Complete job hazard risk assessments
  • Promote a safety culture with all employees
  • Ensure superior customer service is provided
  • General shop clean up and equipment maintenance
  • Other miscellaneous tasks as required
Requirements
  • Preference will be given to applicants with a vaild DZ License and clean driver’s abstract
