Job summary

SECURE, located in Fox Creek, AB, is hiring a Facility Operator to run daily waste treatment, oil treatment and water injection operations. You will interact with customers, maintain safety programs, and ensure efficient plant performance on a 12‑hour shift schedule.

The role requires attention to detail, robust communication, and the ability to multi-task in a physically demanding environment while upholding SECURE's safety standards and environmental responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Operational experience in waste processing, oil treating or water injection is a strong asset.
• Waste management experience is an asset.
• Safety tickets: H2S Alive, First Aid Level One C, Confined Space Entry, WHMIS, TDG.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work long hours.

Responsibilities

• Operate day-to-day facility operations with safety and customer service in mind.
• Unloading trucks and handling oil emulsion, water, and vac trucks.
• Oil treating and managing treater, cooler, or tank treating processes.
• Participate in waste processing, solids handling, and shaker/centrifuge operations.
• Manage receipt, storage, and transport of crude oil; ensure quality compliance.
• Oversee water injection, filter changes, and pump maintenance.

Your Opportunity at SECURE

As Facility Operator you are responsible for the day-to-day safe and customer service-oriented operations of waste treatment, oil treatment and water injection. Operators actively assist with standard operating procedures, hazard assessments, safety programs and environment protection, while keeping in constant contact with customers and demonstrating excellent communications skills and a high level of customer service.

This position is located in Fox Creek, AB.

Work Environment

This position follows a 12-hour shift schedule on a 7-on / 7-off rotation, rotating between days and nights.

A Day in The Life

• Responsible and accountable for the day-to-day operation of the facility


• Responsible for truck unloading, oil emulsion and water & vac trucks


• Responsible for oil treating with the treater, cooler or tank treating


• Participating in waste processing, waste and mud tank operation, shaker & centrifuge operations and solids treating


• Responsible and accountable for the receipt, terminal storage and transportation of crude oil while adhering to Measurement & Crude Oil Quality compliance


• Managing ongoing water injection, filter changing and pump maintenance


• Conducting treatment of solids on the waste pad


• Conducting boiler operations, testing and steam system operations


• Ensuring that all corporate compliance programs are adhered to


• Submitting truck tickets summary, daily plant checklists, and balance and transfers to the office


• Participates in the Health & Safety Management System (HSMS)


• Waste plant operation (ensuring solids processing is meeting or exceeding landfill criteria and solids testing)


• Following water injection SOP’s and best practices to protect the disposal well integrity


• General maintenance, ensure that the plant is kept clean and safe

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

• A High School Diploma, General Education Diploma or equivalent


• Operational experience in waste processing, oil treating or water injection is considered a strong asset


• Waste management experience is considered a strong asset


• Specialty training in boilers, treaters, pumps (all), repairs, shaker/centrifuge and loader is considered an asset


• Current and valid safety tickets, including H2S Alive, First Aid Level One C, Confined Space Entry, WHIMS and TDG


• A strong attention to detail, communication skills with the ability to work long hours in a mentally and physically demanding work environment


• Must be able to document their work, perform and manage cross shift communication and ensure strategic communication with multiple stakeholders


• Must be able to multi-task and demonstrate excellent decision-making skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues


• Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills and safe work practices


• A valid and acceptable Driver’s license and successful completion of Pre-employment testing
