The Opportunity:

Our client, a fast-growing industrial processing company with strong customer relationships and top-tier investors, is seeking an experienced Facility Manager to oversee operations at their Vaughan facility. This is a site-based leadership role, ideal for a pragmatic and hands-on operations leader who thrives in dynamic environments and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves.

The facility—while aging and operationally complex—is a cornerstone of the business’s near-term growth strategy, with a new, purpose-built facility scheduled for completion in 24 months. The incoming Facility Manager will play a critical role in stabilizing and optimizing the current operation while helping to shape the design and transition to the future site.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Overseeing daily facility operations and ensuring safety, efficiency, and operational continuity.
  • Being a visible leader on the shop floor, regularly engaging with team members to identify and resolve bottlenecks.
  • Supporting and coaching a non-unionized, experienced workforce to maintain performance and morale.
  • Managing general facility upkeep in a challenging, gritty environment involving food byproducts.
  • Working cross-functionally with senior leadership to plan and prepare for the transition to the future facility.
  • Contributing to process improvements, equipment planning, and layout redesigns as part of long-term infrastructure planning.
  • Upholding workplace health and safety standards and helping drive a culture of accountability and improvement.
  • Monitoring KPIs and operational metrics to inform decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful:

  • 7–10+ years of experience in facility, plant, or operations management, ideally in an industrial or processing environment.
  • Proven leadership experience working with front-line staff and shop floor operations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a practical and grounded leadership style.
  • High comfort level working in dirty, outdated facilities that involves food-related material.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; thrives in environments that are far from polished.
  • Ability to work independently and drive results with limited structure.
  • Valid driver’s license; vehicle and gas card provided for commuting and business use.
