Position Level: 2

• Salary$60,000 based on 37.5-hour per week (35 paid hours equates to $33.00 per hour)
• Valid driver's license

• Required to work late evening, overnight and weekends depending on business needs.

Experience Requirements and Qualification

• 2 Years in the restaurant industries.
• 1 Year of Operations Management or related management experience
• 2 years work experience in Canada.
• Excellent supervisory skills, coaching and effective communication.
• Experience with kitchen equipment required
• Understands basic knowledge of MS Office, Outlook, Internet/Intranet

The job

The Facilities Manager works with Operations Supervisors and Restaurant General Managers to drive each restaurant’s targets. This means supporting the restaurants within the market by following up on their progress by providing coaching and direction to improve the results relating to each restaurant's physical building facility, equipment repair & maintenance, technological support via On-site Technology Person (OTP), McDonald’s / WorkSafeBC safety program, and restaurant cleanliness.

General

• Partnering with each restaurant Facilities leader to support their General Managers and Department Managers with their individual targets, following up on their progress, and providing coaching and direction to improve the results relating to overall facility maintenance and cleanliness
• Maintaining physical plant of all restaurants ensuring efficient equipment operations that maximize yield performance and equipment longevity
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and secure work environment for guests, coworkers, and yourself, leveraging your knowledge of safety regulations and equipment
• Working with the Restaurant Facilities Department Lead to support each restaurant’s Kitchen overnight Support Staff
• Building and maintaining relationships with equipment service vendors and outside services vendors

Equipment Maintenance - Repairs

• Plumbing & Electrical - repair minor problems where suitable or coordinate vendor to repair and follow up
• Refrigeration - Coordinate with vendor to ensure proper maintenance of equipment and any required repairs on Restaurant equipment such as HVAC, Refrigeration, Ice Machine and Kitchen Equipment
• Coordination and follow up of vendors to repair equipment when/where needed
• Painting, misc. repairs to tiles, walls etc., pressure washing, exterior building cleanliness, and small equipment calibration (e.g., Coffee machines, cream/juice machines)
• Grease trap maintenance
• Manage pest control within restaurants
• Address health inspection, deficiencies related to physical plant
• Provide monthly updates to leadership on the M & R budget and where the opportunities are
• Training on key equipment maintenance tasks and weekly machine cleanings
• Coordinate, train, follow up, and educate with each Restaurant’s Health and Safety committee
• Implement processes and required training to maintain equipment operations and reduce cost of repairs

Supervising Restaurant Kitchen overnight Support Teams

• Recruit, train, develop, coordinate activities, scheduling, and supervise the kitchen overnight Support Teams.
• Work some late evenings, overnights and early morning shifts to oversee the cleanliness and performance standards of the kitchen overnight support staff
• Work with each restaurants’ management team to provide structured feedback, performance evaluations for Support Teams.

Restaurant Technology

• Identify and develop Onsite Technology Person position for each restaurant
• Follow up on and/or escalate any outstanding restaurant technology related failure and service matters within McDonald’s Help Desk support system

Restaurant Safety Program

• Work with each restaurant’s Safety Committee Leader
• Conduct monthly follow up to ensure each Safety Committee is fulfilling their minimum required responsibilities as per McDonald’s and WorkSafeBC regulations
• Follow up on new committee member’s training and verifications
• Implement programs or processes to reduce employee injuries and claims
