Reporting to the Maintenance Foreman, the Facility Maintenance Technician (Electrician) will be part of our P3 Building Technologies & Solutions business at Johnson Controls. This position is located at the Providence Care Hospital, where you will be part of a team responsible for maintaining building systems, equipment, and the physical aspects of the facility.
What You Will Do
Customer Service
- Respond to customer needs, inquiries, and requirements in a professional, timely, respectful, and courteous manner at all times.
Performance Requirements
- Diligently respond to work orders, work assignments, and other requests promptly, adhering to response and rectification times.
Teamwork
- Collaborate effectively with maintenance staff, management, hospital staff, and contractors in a cooperative and respectful manner to complete tasks.
Safety
- Perform all duties safely and diligently, complying with company and site-specific Occupational Health and Safety Policies, rules, and requirements, including infection control procedures as dictated by hospital policies.
Housekeeping and Clean-Up
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of work and rest areas, following good housekeeping practices.
Principal Duties
- Perform predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance on facility equipment and systems, especially electrical systems, to meet uptime and asset integrity goals.
- Follow established processes, response, and rectification guidelines.
- Comply with environmental, health, safety, and fire protection standards.
- Perform maintenance throughout the hospital, including after hours and on weekends when required.
- Coordinate high-voltage maintenance activities, including Lock-Out-Tag-Out procedures.
- Conduct periodic generator testing, inspections, and sign-offs for hospital equipment.
- Record observations, deficiencies, and suggestions for improvements in a CMMS.
- Ensure work quality and compliance with all requirements.
- Track and report maintenance status within the service management database.
- Work with subcontractors on equipment repair, maintenance, and calibration.
- Recommend spare parts and supplies for facility equipment.
- Participate in facility-related projects and ensure adherence to safety and environmental policies.
- Maintain tools, participate in hospital codes, and assist with seasonal maintenance tasks.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
What We Look For
Required
- Construction and Maintenance Electrician 309A or Industrial Electrician 442A license.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including on-call, standby, and emergency responses.
- Ability to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and 12-hour shifts.
- Willingness to wear PPE and work on ladders or at heights.
- Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs and work on your feet in a fast-paced environment.
- Must pass security/background checks.
Preferred
- At least 5 years of facility maintenance experience in hospital, university, food, manufacturing, or similar environments.
- Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, including high voltage.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Familiarity with Building Automation Systems (BAS), especially Metasys.
- Strong computer skills and experience with handheld devices.
- Professional, cooperative attitude with a client-service orientation and high sense of urgency.
- Ability to work effectively in a team under changing conditions.
- Maintain confidentiality of business activities.
- Ability to work at heights.
