Job summary

The YMCA of Three Rivers is hiring a full-time cleaner at the Stork Family YMCA in Waterloo Region. You will deliver high-standard cleaning across facilities and support a welcoming, safe environment for participants.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of cleaning experience, can use cleaning tools, and work well in a team. This role requires physical work and a commitment to inclusive services, with benefits including health perks and a YMCA membership.

Work Hours: 37.5 hours per week.

What you will do…

You will provide a high standard of customer service to all participants per YMCA standard. You will ensure all assigned areas are cleaned promptly and regularly. You will clean all areas of the facility which include; showers, washroom areas, floors and hard surfaces, refilling of dispensers (soap, paper products etc.), stock/maintain cleaning supplies as required, and other duties as assigned. You will be responsible for washing/drying and restocking towels. Your attention to detail and pride in delivering excellent quality work will ensure our facility meets our high standards for cleanliness. You will attend trainings and staff meetings as required. This physically demanding position requires task flexibility, organization and high levels of energy.

What you will bring…

You will have a minimum of 1-year experience in a similar environment and the ability to use various cleaning tools and equipment. You will be able to take direction, work well with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team. You will have a commitment to working in a socially inclusive environment. Physical requirements include frequent climbing of stairs, some physical exertion and lifting a maximum of 50lbs. WHMIS certificate and Standard First Aid with CPR-C and AED is an asset. Flexibility to support cleaning at our Guelph YMCA is an asset.
