Job summary

BuzzClan is seeking an entry-level facilities technician to support a live Coastal Gas Link gas facility in Kitimat, BC. The position emphasizes yard and site cleanliness, general facility tasks, and delegated field support.

The role is onsite with 75% time at Kitimat and potential field work across the CG Link footprint as experience grows. Training and mentorship are provided to develop toward pipeline, instrumentation, and controls roles.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of industrial working environment experience.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform general facility tasks.
  • High school diploma.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Experience working safely around energized industrial equipment and following site safety procedures.
  • Ability to perform general facility maintenance, yard cleanliness, site support, and delegated work under the direction of senior technicians.
  • Ability to work in a live, operating gas facility and follow safety procedures.
  • Willingness to develop toward mechanical, pipeline, instrumentation & controls, measurement, or field operations.
  • Ability to complete approximately 25% administrative/site documentation.
  • Ability to work independently while supporting a small experienced field team.
  • Local to Kitimat or Terrace, BC, or willing to relocate; relocation assistance is not provided.
  • Strong English communication skills.
  • Ability to work a standard 40-hour work week with occasional overtime.

Job description

Location: Kitimat, BC (Terrace, BC also acceptable)

Duration: 12 Months – Strong possibility of conversion to permanent

Work Arrangement: Onsite / Field-Based

Interview: Phone/Video Call followed by In-Person

Required Experience and Skills

  • Ability to complete approximately 25% administrative/site documentation responsibilities.
  • Ability to work independently while taking direction from senior technicians and supporting a small experienced field team.
  • Must be local to Kitimat or Terrace, BC, or willing to self‑relocate; relocation assistance is not provided.
  • Strong English communication skills – Must Have
  • Ability to work a standard 40-hour work week with occasional overtime based on operational requirements.
Nice-to-Have Skills and Experience
  • Started or currently pursuing a trade/apprenticeship.
  • Technical, maintenance, mechanical, or operations‑related training.
  • Prior experience in oil & gas, forestry, aluminum, manufacturing, welding, or other industrial environments.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar work management systems.
  • Prior office, administrative, or documentation experience.
  • Experience working around gas facilities, pipelines, metering stations, or other energy infrastructure.
  • H2S Alive, First Aid, or gas detection certifications – preferred but not required, as training will be provided during onboarding.
  • Experience using a company vehicle or working across multiple industrial field locations.
Role Highlights
