Job summary

Riverside Natural Foods Ltd. in the Greater Toronto Area seeks a facilities technician to operate, monitor, troubleshoot and maintain HVAC, boilers, chillers, pumps and related building systems. You will work with contractors and log maintenance in the CMMS to ensure reliability.

Full-time onsite role focused on safety, energy efficiency and equipment uptime, with opportunities to contribute to preventive maintenance programs and building improvements.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years hands-on experience in building systems maintenance (HVAC, boilers, chillers).
• Basic knowledge in electrical.
• Troubleshooting HVAC, chillers, boilers.
• Knowledge of pumps and compressed air systems.
• Experience with PM scheduling and daily checks.
• Understanding of mechanical, electrical and control principles.
• General handyman skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate and troubleshoot HVAC, boilers, chillers, pumps, and compressed air systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance and replace filters, belts, and consumables as scheduled.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors; ensure work aligns with safety standards.
• Document maintenance activities in the CMMS and track system performance.
• Conduct daily building checks and report deviations; suggest energy-efficiency improvements.
• Uphold health, safety and food safety standards; maintain clean, safe work areas.
