Job summary

The City of North Vancouver is seeking a temporary full-time Physical Plant Maintenance Worker I to inspect, maintain and repair HVAC systems in municipal buildings. The role covers preventive maintenance and minor electrical/plumbing tasks, with duties including reading plans and documenting work. Requires related technical courses and RCMP security clearance.

Driver's license (Class 5 BC) is required. Hours are eight and a half per day, with compressed weekly schedule.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment and services.
• Ability to assist in implementing preventive maintenance programs and reading blueprints/plans.
• Sound experience in building maintenance operations and related records.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and repair HVAC systems in municipal buildings.
• Perform minor electrical and plumbing tasks as needed.
• Carry out preventive maintenance and respond to user-reported issues.
• Read blueprints/plans and maintain reports/records.
