About This Career Opportunity

The Facilities Supervisor is located in Downtown Toronto, Ontario, and is responsible for managing and maintaining either single or multiple client facilities, including managing building staff and vendors, coordinating space renovations, and client relationships. Additionally, the Facility Manager will ensure profitability through effective planning, management, and development of effective controls and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensuring processes and procedures are in place to ensure consistency and continuity of services.
  2. Acting as the Owner’s Representative for the stipulated work and any other tasks as requested.
  3. Develop and maintain a comprehensive maintenance program, including training maintenance personnel and establishing an innovative Preventive Maintenance Program.
  4. Providing timely and comprehensive reports as agreed.
  5. Leading and attending meetings to provide performance updates, achievements, and recommendations.
  6. Building and maintaining good customer and vendor relationships.
  7. Preparing contracts, negotiating revisions, and managing expenditures.
  8. Supervising staff and subcontractors, participating in audits, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental policies.
  9. Performing site inspections and managing operational and capital projects.
  10. Responding to facility emergencies after hours.
  11. Managing utility activities and developing project schedules and budgets.
  12. Establishing strong relationships with vendors and third parties.
  13. Ensuring staff training and performance management.
  14. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in a related field.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in building maintenance or related trade.
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and structural systems.
  • Experience managing building services, projects, and implementing process improvements.
  • Knowledge of electrical codes, building, and fire safety codes.
  • Experience in an airport/airline setting is an asset.
Skills and Abilities
  • Effective communication and accountability.
  • Problem-solving and innovation skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple teams and projects.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a police reference check.
  • Ability to respond to emergencies and work flexible hours.
