Position: Facilities Supervisor

Our client is a successful automotive manufacturing company located in GTA north, with an immediate need for a Facilities Supervisor. This position oversees plant and building facilities maintenance, including upkeep and preventative maintenance for buildings, outbuildings, and grounds. The role requires experience with building maintenance, HVAC, and building relationships with external contractors, as well as supervising building security operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage parts inventory and order replacement parts and spares as required.
• Manage the PM System; report deficiencies to Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Manager.
• Modify PM checklists and frequency to improve effectiveness; perform regular audits to ensure team compliance and completion.
• Manage annual contracts with facility contractors for chillers, towers, compressors, HVAC, wastewater, cranes, switchgear, electrical feeds, and stamping line scrap conveyor.
• Ensure scheduled contractor services, obtain quotes for repairs, and address open issues.
• Maintain all internal and contractor work to support audits and ISO standards.
• Request annual working capital for facilities and equipment improvements.
• Back up the Maintenance Supervisor in their absence.
• Assist in generating weekly project lists with the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Suggest improvements to working conditions and equipment.
• Review monthly safety talks.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of facilities supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with large-scale facility projects and equipment upgrades.
• Industrial Electrician or Mechanic license or equivalent technical certification/diploma.
• Ability to manage and motivate experienced maintenance personnel.
• Well-versed in various production equipment (stamping presses, injection moulding machines, welders, robotics, general assembly).
• Understanding of PLC-controlled equipment.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills (written and verbal).
• Good understanding of electrical and mechanical maintenance.
• Ability to prioritize breakdowns, implement permanent solutions, and minimize downtime.
