Job summary

Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is seeking a Facilities Power Engineer in Vancouver to operate, inspect, and maintain critical heating, cooling, and pressure systems across our plant and facility. The role emphasizes proactive maintenance, safety compliance, and collaboration with contractors to ensure reliable operations.

You will monitor building automation and energy trends, document performance, and support system upgrades while contributing to asset reliability and energy efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and 4th Class Power Engineering certification.
• Minimum of 3 years post-certification operations experience.
• Proficiency in operating plant systems and building automation.
• Knowledge of energy management and efficiency is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor all plant and facility heating, cooling, mechanical and pressure systems 24/7.
• Analyze energy trends and adjust controls to optimize efficiency and safety.
• Document system performance and support continuous improvement.
• Respond to alarms and service calls, coordinating repairs.
• Maintain operational records and provide clear shift handovers.
• Support capital projects and system upgrades with maintainability input.
• Collaborate with engineers and contractors to ensure code compliance.
