Job summary

The Township of Esquimalt seeks an auxiliary Custodian Maintenance Worker for the Parks and Recreation Department. You will perform routine cleaning in the Recreation Centre and washrooms, monitor pool areas, and set up rooms for events and activities.

Key qualifications include Pool Operator’s Level 1 and 2 Certificates, a Class 5 BC Driver’s License with a clean record, and a clear vulnerable sector check. Salary is $34.69–$37.35 hourly, with 14% in lieu of benefits.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid Pool Operator’s Level 1 and 2 Certificates.
• Partial high school graduation acceptable with training.
• Completion of Building Maintenance Worker Course preferred.
• Valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s License and clean driving record.
• Criminal record check including vulnerable sector clearance.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning at Recreation Centre and washrooms.
• Monitor, clean and disinfect changerooms, activity rooms, lockers and halls.
• Set up rooms for functions and events, indoors and outdoors.
• Handle cleaning materials and pool chemistry tests.
• Perform basic maintenance of pool equipment.
