Job summary

Black & McDonald Limited seeks a Building Operator to safely operate facilities in Ottawa, ensuring reliable BAS, HVAC, and water treatment performance. The role involves troubleshooting, system start/stop, and routine maintenance in a unionized environment.

The ideal candidate holds a 4th/3rd Class Operating Engineer certificate with BAS/HVAC experience and at least 2 years of facilities operations knowledge. Bilingual English-French is a plus and a valid driver's license is recommended.

Qualifications

• Mandatory Operating Engineer certificate with BAS/HVAC experience.
• 2+ years in facilities maintenance and operations preferred.
• Strong knowledge of building systems and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement custom control applications.
• Troubleshoot BAS programming and provide network support.
• Perform shift tours and log readings.
• Start up/shut down major building equipment.
• All water treatment duties, HVAC and safety testing.
• Air balancing, AHU maintenance and pump alignment.
• Minor repairs to pneumatic equipment.
