Job summary

Black & McDonald is seeking a Building Operator to ensure safe and efficient operation of the facility, manage building systems, and support maintenance activities. The role involves responding to service calls, maintaining documentation in the CMMS, and coordinating with the Maintenance Team Lead.

The position requires you to work a 06:00 to 19:00 schedule with two shifts and participate in an on-call rotation to support on-site coverage.

Qualifications

• Must possess BES Operator II or SMC or equivalent.
• 1-3 years facilities maintenance and operations experience.
• Basic electrical awareness (non-licensed).
• Understanding of Fire & Life-Safety panels.
• Knowledge of BAS/BMS and building systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect buildings for safety hazards and compliance.
• Monitor building systems performance and environmental controls.
• Ensure equipment and property are in good condition and running effectively.
• Respond to service requests; troubleshoot or repair building systems (HVACR, electrical, lighting, plumbing, life safety).
• Support contract requirements for roads, utilities, fencing and gates within site.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of contract assets.
• Record actions in CMMS and communicate recommendations.
• Maintain availability of supplies for maintenance activities.
• General housekeeping of O&M areas.
