Job summary

The City of Kenora is hiring a Manager, Facilities Maintenance to lead day-to-day operations, oversee municipal buildings, and drive preventive maintenance programs. Reporting to the General Manager, Capital Project Delivery, you will manage repairs, contracts, and sustainability efforts while guiding staff development and workforce planning.

Expect to oversee project design, contract administration, and energy data reporting, with a focus on efficient service delivery and adherence to policies

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain a valid Ontario G Driver’s License.
• Degree or diploma in Building Science, Facility Management or related construction/project management.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience, including two (2) years in a management or supervisory role.
• Knowledge of building operations and maintenance (O&M) and procurement practices.
• Experience in a complex unionized operational environment is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of assigned facilities, properties and structures; assign tasks and manage work orders.
• Coordinate and manage building repairs and services; oversee contracts with providers and vendors.
• Create and implement long-term facility/asset management strategies aligned with the Strategic Plan.
• Resolve employee requests and communicate facilities services and policies.
• Ensure deployment of personnel, resources and partners to optimize service delivery.
• Monitor performance through data analysis and metrics; report to senior leaders.
