Job summary

Shannex Incorporated in Halifax is seeking a Maintenance Worker to join our Maintenance team, reporting to the Facilities Maintenance Manager. This role keeps residential and commercial properties safe and well maintained by performing general repairs, preventative maintenance, and seasonal grounds work.

You will respond to maintenance requests in a courteous and timely manner, perform repairs, use PM Worx to manage work orders, and coordinate with vendors when needed.

Qualifications

• One to three years of maintenance experience, ideally in residential, commercial, or mixed-use properties.
• Basic knowledge of general building systems and repairs.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. or 23 kg and perform physical work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Respond to maintenance requests and concerns in a courteous and timely manner.
• Perform general repairs, preventative maintenance, and seasonal grounds work.
• Move, assemble, deliver, and set up furniture and equipment as required.
• Maintain common areas, offices, exterior grounds, lighting, signage, parking areas, and walkways.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors when specialized repairs are required.
• Use PM Worx to manage work orders and preventative maintenance schedules.
