Job summary

Ripley's Aquarium of Canada is seeking a Building Maintenance Technician (Full Time) to keep the facility safe, clean, and guest-ready. You will perform daily maintenance, repairs, inspections, and upkeep across building systems under the direction of the Senior Manager of Facilities.

This role supports an attraction that operates year-round and requires availability for flexible shifts. The ideal candidate will have 1–2 years of related experience, be able to read blueprints, and be proficient

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of general mechanical, technical, building maintenance, or facilities experience.
• Experience with general contracting, repairs, installations, and facility upkeep.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and work instructions.
• Flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and shifts outside regular operating hours.
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, ladders and maintenance equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily maintenance and repairs on building systems, lighting, plumbing, electrical components, and fixtures.
• Troubleshoot issues, identify required repairs, and take prompt action to keep spaces operating.
• Perform carpentry, fabrication, installation, assembly, and basic construction tasks.
• Maintain public spaces and back-of-house areas to a high standard of cleanliness and safety.
• Support groundskeeping and housekeeping tasks as needed.
• Follow routine and preventative maintenance schedules and complete logs and records.
• Monitor supplies and inventory of critical parts within budget guidelines.
• Respond to operational needs and assist other departments to support guest experience.
• Follow SOPs and health and safety procedures; communicate clearly with team via radios.
