Job summary

Ripley's Aquarium of Canada is seeking a Housekeeping Attendant to maintain the cleanliness of the aquarium to the highest standards. You will be expected to work various shifts on a year-round schedule, as the attraction operates every day.

Responsibilities include cleaning floors, washrooms, windows, and public areas, restocking supplies, performing basic maintenance checks on equipment, and completing laundry duties as assigned.

Facility: Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada Reports to: Housekeeping Manager

Job Purpose: The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for all aspects of cleaning and maintaining the cleanliness of the Aquarium to the highest standards.

Please remember that due to the nature of our business, we work when others play in an attraction that is open 365 days of the year! You will be expected to be regularly available to work any shift during, before or after these hours of operation.

Critical Accountabilities:

• Vacuum, sweep, scrub, and mop floors using a variety of cleaning and floor-care equipment, including but not limited to ride‑on vacuums, hard‑floor scrubbers, gum‑removal machines, walk‑behind and pull‑behind carpet extractors, upright vacuums, and other equipment as required.
• shampoo and extract carpets, as required and according to scheduled maintenance.
• Clean and sanitize washrooms and ensure all consumable supplies are adequately stocked.
• Clean and maintain acrylic surfaces using Ozone, microfiber cloths, and squeegees, following appropriate cleaning procedures.
• Clean office areas, including vacuuming carpets, mopping floors, wiping and disinfecting chairs and tables, cleaning kitchen areas, and removing garbage.
• Safely access and clean confined or hard‑to‑reach areas, including small spaces within children’s play structures.
• Clean, inspect, and perform basic maintenance checks on housekeeping equipment, such as but not limited to, robot vacuums, ride‑on vacuums, carpet extractors, and upright vacuums.
• Complete laundry duties as assigned.
• Regularly disinfect high‑touch surfaces throughout the facility to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards.
• Follow all applicable health and safety procedures and chemical‑handling guidelines, including the proper use of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Clean and maintain interior and exterior windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors.
• Perform dusting and high‑dusting duties on areas such as playground structures, speakers, ledges, light fixtures, and other elevated surfaces, using ladders and appropriate equipment when required.
• Identify and request additional or corrective cleaning services as required to maintain established cleanliness standards.
• Report unresolved maintenance, cleaning, safety, or operational concerns to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager.

Special Skills & Requirements:

• Previous experience in grounds keeping/housekeeping is an asset.

Pay Rate:$19.06/hourly
