Job summary

Aramark Canada is seeking a facilities maintenance professional to manage BAS systems and oversee building equipment in a busy facility in Ottawa.

You will perform preventive maintenance, coordinate with contractors, and support events with electrical, lighting, and other tasks. This role requires flexibility for evenings, holidays, and weekends. Candidates should have 2–3 years of experience and a completed high school education; HVAC is a plus and a background check will be conducted.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expertise in maintenance preferred.
• Must follow basic safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks.
• Exercise considerable judgment based on previous experience to solve problems.
• May act as an informal resource for those with less experience.
• Operates with limited supervision.
• Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings, holidays and weekends.
• HVAC experience is an asset.
• At least 2-3 years of previous experience in a similar role is required.
• Must be able to do shift work.
• Completed high school education at minimum.
• Criminal background check required prior to starting employment.

Responsibilities

• Plans and organizes operational requirements of the BAS.
• Occasionally performs inspections, maintenance, repairs, and diagnostic duties on mechanical systems.
• Controls the daily operation of the BAS and all building systems and equipment.
• Supervises external contractors and technicians during projects inside the facility.
• Reports to the Facility Manager and/or Work Control Assistant and coordinates goals.
• Monitors project progress and ensures work aligns with schedule.
• Performs basic administrative tasks for the Engineering department.
• Performs tasks to support events (electrical hookups, lighting adjustments, etc.).
• Performs other maintenance tasks (building repairs, painting, etc.).
• Inspects, maintains and repairs FF&E and participates in renovations.
• Operates Material Handling and Personnel Lifting Equipment (as needed).
• Adheres to safety policies and client procedures.
