Based out of the Electrical Division Edmonton (EDE) location, the Facilities Maintenance Technician will report to the Manufacturing Supervisor of the Facilities department. The Facilities Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the troubleshooting and repair of manufacturing equipment, both automated and manual.

  • Perform minor electrical maintenance, including but not limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g., wall switches, outlets, fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords).
  • Perform minor plumbing maintenance (e.g., fixing leaks in drains and faucets, replacing drain hoses, trenching, laying new lines).
  • Perform minor painting, carpentry, and masonry work (e.g., hanging doors, fitting locks).
  • Assist in fabrication of walls, installation of doors and windows, and paint preparation.
  • Monitor control systems, building heating, refrigeration, fire detection, and protection systems.
  • Perform emergency and preventative maintenance on equipment throughout the facility.
  • Assist production and manufacturing engineers with process and machinery improvements.
  • Maintain and operate floor cleaning equipment.
  • Manage waste by emptying shop floor garbage and cardboard.
  • Promote a safety culture and attend safety meetings.
  • Follow standard work/process instructions to ensure quality and identify risks to product quality.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-4 years of experience in maintenance.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office).
  • Safety training certificates (e.g., elevated work platform, fall arrest, forklift, crane) are assets.
  • Pre-employment drug and medical testing required due to safety sensitivity.
Working Conditions
  • Temperature-controlled manufacturing/industrial environment with outdoor activities.
  • Mandatory PPE (hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety harnesses, respirators).
  • Work from ladders and lift equipment at heights up to 30 feet.
  • Work around loud machinery.
Physical Requirements
  • Maintain body balance and agility.
  • Bend, lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Use upper extremities to exert force up to 20 lbs.
  • Repetitive motions with fingers and hands.
  • Perceive size, shape, temperature, or texture by touch.
