Job summary

Compass Early Learning and Care seeks a Facilities and Maintenance Coordinator to oversee leased and owned spaces, ensuring safety, accessibility, and alignment with our values and vision framework.

You will work with operations leadership to develop long-term facility plans, coordinate site visits, and manage vendor relationships for maintenance and capital projects across multiple regions.

Qualifications

• Awareness of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA).
• OHSA knowledge and compliance.
• Knowledge of Building and Fire Codes regulation.
• AODA training and knowledge.
• CSA standards for playgrounds and surfaces.
• WHMIS knowledge for hazardous materials.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive to multiple regions.
• Clear Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Awareness of Small Waterworks act requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and steward systems for safe, accessible, and inviting spaces.
• Conduct regular site visits to identify maintenance and operational needs.
• Coordinate with vendors for facilities maintenance and improvement projects.
• Schedule and oversee annual playground inspections and maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and accessibility standards.
