Job summary

Metrolinx is seeking Plant Service Persons I & II to provide janitorial services, basic maintenance and minor repairs across Metrolinx buildings and facilities. You will inspect facilities, replenish supplies, clean surfaces, and ensure safety and cleanliness in a dynamic environment.

Required are nine months of Janitorial experience, a valid G driver's license, GO Transit Operator permit, First Aid, forklift/propane training, and knowledge of health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Nine months or more of building/janitorial servicing experience with cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Valid G-class driver’s license and ability to obtain GO Transit Operator permit.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations; able to interact with the public politely.
• High school-level reading/writing; capable of basic documentation and record-keeping.
• Must obtain/maintain First Aid certification and forklift/propane training.
• Willingness to complete environmental and safety trainings as required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect facilities for cleanliness and record deficiencies.
• Perform janitorial tasks: replenish supplies, waste removal, surface cleaning, disinfecting.
• Carry out minor maintenance: tighten screws, replace lamps, lubrication, snow removal.
• Maintain records of work performed and materials used; report to supervisor.
• Prepare procurement requests for replenishment of materials.
• Monitor on-site facilities and equipment; take corrective action as directed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
