Production Facilities Expert

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, energetic, positive, hard-working individual to join our team. The Production Facilities Expert will be responsible for providing advanced assistance to customers using the Symmetry Process Software Platform in applications from a wide variety of industries ranging from oil and gas to refining, chemicals, and alternative energy sources, including the latest process technologies used in research and industrial fields.

As part of the Symmetry Commercialization team, the Facilities Expert will also be responsible for validating and verifying new and existing features of our software platform. Tasks include the design and development of integration and acceptance tests, enhancing existing test procedures, troubleshooting defects, creating relevant sample cases, and reporting conflicts between versions.

Roles and Responsibilities
  1. Provide feedback and guidance to process engineers using Symmetry.
  2. Troubleshoot customers’ simulation cases and installations.
  3. Understand customer objectives to facilitate the best use of Symmetry’s features and capabilities.
  4. Act as a liaison between the customer and the development team to incorporate user feedback and improve the platform.
  5. Develop simulation models featuring common processes important to our clients.
  6. Develop and update documentation.
  7. Design and execute tests for new software features.
Qualifications and Experience
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering.
  2. Recent graduate or up to 2 years of experience with process simulation, especially in oil and gas; dynamics simulation is a plus.
  3. Experience with VMGSim or Symmetry preferred.
  4. Familiarity with VBA programming is a plus.
  5. Understanding of thermodynamics and process equipment principles.
  6. Attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
  7. Strong communication skills (interpersonal, written, presentation).
  8. Ability to translate customer needs into software feature specifications.
  9. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
  10. Legal ability to work and reside in Canada without sponsorship.
