Job summary

Pembina Trails School Division is seeking a Custodial Supervisor to oversee the custodial services across the division’s facilities. You will lead a team, manage scheduling, training, safety compliance, and budgeting for custodial staff and supplies in alignment with health and safety standards.

The role requires a 5th Class Power Engineers Certificate and a post-secondary degree in Facility Administration, plus leadership experience in a unionized setting.

Qualifications

• Degree in Facility Administration with two years of related experience or equivalent
• 5th Class Power Engineers Certificate required
• Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook
• Experience managing employees in a unionized environment with collective agreement provisions
• Experience coaching, mentoring, and building teams
• Strong organizational and time-management skills under pressure
• Excellent customer service and conflict-resolution abilities
• Ability to handle confidential information with tact and diplomacy
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates all aspects of the Facilities & Operations Department work
• Supervises staff and directs workload across facilities
• Participates in annual budgeting for custodial staffing, supplies and equipment
• Assists in recruitment of regular, casual, and substitute custodial staff
• Monitors and reviews custodial timesheets and time-off requests
• Ensures compliance with the collective agreement and resolves related issues
• Oversees training for custodial staff and safety procedures
• Manages inventory of custodial equipment, supplies and materials
• Responds to after-hours emergency calls and weekend needs
• Ensures health, safety and regulatory compliance in buildings and facilities
