Job summary

Explore Edmonton Corporation seeks a Building Services Manager to lead the Edmonton Convention Centre operations. You will supervise the Building Services team, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and event readiness while coordinating with stakeholders to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will drive performance, manage budgets, and implement continuous improvements across facilities and services in a dynamic, high-volume venue environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of progressive leadership experience in Building Services or related field.
• Experience leading teams and managing performance.
• Experience with unionized staff and contracted service providers is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead Building Services team with accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and service excellence.
• Oversee scheduling and resource allocation to ensure readiness for events.
• Establish and maintain standards for cleanliness, presentation, and facility readiness.
• Conduct quality assurance inspections and performance reviews to improve service.
• Manage custodial equipment, supplies, and inventories for efficiency.
• Oversee contracted services including waste management, cleaning and pest control.
• Lead environmental sustainability initiatives and safety training programs.
• Develop and manage departmental budgets, labour, and procurement.
