Job summary

Medcan in the Greater Toronto Area is seeking a Facilities Attendant to join our client-focused Facilities team. You will help maintain clean and attractive clinic spaces including locker rooms, lounges and examination rooms, supporting nurses as needed.

The role requires strong customer service, good communication, and attention to detail. Shifts are 8.5 hours between 6:00am and 7:30pm, across multiple clinic locations including Markham.

Qualifications

• Prior hotel housekeeping experience is an asset.
• Customer service skills training or experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organization and time management.

Responsibilities

• General maintenance of all areas of the clinic.
• Housekeeping opening and closing procedures.
• Set up and manage breakfast, lunch and snacks in clinic lounges.
• Stocking and inventory for clinic lounges.
• Maintenance of restrooms and locker rooms.
• Inventory and order placement for daily meals.
• Review and report maintenance deficiencies.
• Disposal of clinic waste and sterilization duties.
• Assist nurses in setting up examination rooms.
• Respond to client requests and coordinate with staff.

The Role:

Medcan is recruiting for a Facilities Attendant to join our client-focused Facilities team. We are looking for a well-spoken individual with exceptional client service skills and a great attitude. The role is responsible for maintaining clean and attractive conditions of all of the Clinic premises including locker rooms, lounges, offices and examination rooms. The ideal candidate has some housekeeping and light food and beverage experience and an appreciation for attention to detail.

• Markham - 600 Cochrane Drive

What You’ll Do:

• General maintenance of all areas of the clinic
• Housekeeping opening and closing procedures
• Setting up and managing breakfast, lunch and snacks in clinic lounges
• Stocking and inventory for the clinic lounges
• Maintenance of restrooms and locker rooms
• Inventory and order placement for daily breakfast, lunch and snacks
• Review and reporting of any maintenance deficiencies
• Linen supplies and inventory
• Assistance with food and beverage service
• Spot checking and refresh of all public areas
• Responding to client requests
• Assisting nurses in setting up examination rooms throughout the day
• Checking and distributing incoming deliveries
• Cleaning of equipment in endoscopy suite if-needed
• Clinic supplies and deliveries as needed
• Sterilization of equipment
• Disposal of clinic waste including medical/bio hazard waste
• Preventive maintenance
• Coordinating with other clinic staff to ensure exceptional delivery of service

What You’ll Need:

• Prior hotel Housekeeping experience in a 4-5 Star Hotel is an asset
• Customer service skills training
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organization and time management

The Clinic is open between the hours of 6:30am-7:30pm. Applicants must be available to work 8.5 hr shifts in-clinic between hours of 6:00am-7:30pm.

Position Pay Range

$36,374.00 - $50,014.25 CAD annually

Pay will be determined based on an analysis of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications within the role's compensation grade. Medcan's compensation ranges are determined by a combination of required qualifications and skills, market value, and internal equity. The above range pertains solely to the base compensation and is not inclusive of additional compensation details such as perks, benefits, and potential bonuses or incentives.
