Job summary

St. Albert Public Schools is recruiting a Full Time, Probationary Caretaker 4 for Joseph M. Demko School. The role includes cleaning designated areas, minor maintenance, and building positive relationships with staff, students and community user groups.

Hours are 37.5 per week (Mon-Fri), 3pm-11pm, with relocation between division sites as required. Hourly rate is $24.26 under the CUPE Collective Agreement, with comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Entry level knowledge of cleaning equipment operation and chemicals used.
• Ability to lift and handle cleaning equipment and furniture.
• Basic knowledge of repair procedures.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Up to 6 months experience in building cleaning.
• WHMIS training would be an asset.

St. Albert Public Schools is currently recruiting a Full Time, Probationary, Caretaker 4 for a work assignment with Facilities Services at Joseph M. Demko School.

More than 9000 students are enrolled in St. Albert Public Schools. From Preschool to Grade 12, our students learn and succeed in programs that are recognized for excellence and their focus on citizenship and sound values.

Hours of Work: 37.50hrs./week; 7.5 hrs./day Monday-Friday; Full Time, Probationary

Hours will be: 3pm-11pm

Hourly Rate: $24.26 per hour, as per the CUPE Collective Agreement

Position Summary:

The successful candidate will be assigned to a work location based on the Division’s operational needs and must be willing and able to work at, and relocate between, Division sites as required. Under the direction of the Assistant Manager of Facilities Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning designated areas of Division facilities, performing minor maintenance tasks, and fostering positive working relationships with staff, students, and community user groups.

Specific Needs/Requirements for this position:

• This work involves routine cleaning and minor maintenance tasks to maintain school buildings and property.
• Entry level knowledge of cleaning equipment operation as well as the chemicals and cleaning products used.
• Ability to lift and handle cleaning equipment and furniture.
• Basic knowledge of repair procedures.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Up to 6 months experience in building cleaning.
