Job summary

Foster Farms is seeking a Welding/Fabrication Technician to provide welding, fabrication, and machining support. You will work from blueprints, repair malfunctions, and lay out estimates for jobs, welding various metals including aluminum. A strong focus on safety and accuracy is required.

4+ years of hands-on training and the ability to lift 50 pounds are essential. California driver’s license and clean DMV record are required for on-site work.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 4 years of training on the job and/or formal schooling.
• Must be able to pass a Welder/Fabricator Level A test.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision and complete work timely.
• Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work from a ladder.
• Must have and maintain a California driver's license and an acceptable DMV record.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and repair welding/fabrication malfunctions.
• Work from blueprints/schematics to perform maintenance/repair or install equipment.
• Report materials and replacement parts needed for jobs; prepare and maintain maintenance invoices.
• Direct/instruct subordinate employees still in training (e.g., welders/fabricators).
• Lay out estimate jobs; determine metal types/thicknesses to use.
• Weld mild steel, stainless and aluminum metals.
• Machining of pins, bushings, shafts, keyways, etc.

Pay Rate: $29.80 per hour.

(Additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 7:00pm and 11:59pm. Additional $2.00 per hour worked between 12:00am-4:59am)

Essential Functions

• Report (in writing) materials and replacement parts needed for jobs; prepare and maintain maintenance invoices are required.
• Direct/instruct subordinate employees still in training (e.g., welders/fabricators, classes B and C).
• Lay out estimate jobs; determine appropriate metal types/thicknesses to be used.
• Weld mild steel, stainless and aluminum metals.
• Must have 4 years' experience with using lathe and milling machines.
• Machining of pins, bushings, shafts, keyways, etc.

Additional Functions

• General cleaning and/or assisting other crews if required.
• Maintaining safety, housekeeping, and sanitation and disease control requirements while performing job duties.
