We offer various shifts:
- Rotating Day Shift (continental)
- Monday to Thursday Nightshift
- Weekend Nightshift (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)
Position: Fabrication Lead
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ensure crew is arriving on time, ready, and fit for duty at the start of each shift.
- Host a morning meeting with the crew to delegate work for the day.
- Review job-related issues or safety concerns.
- Ensure workers have proper materials and tools to complete daily tasks.
- Train apprentices in job duties.
- Check subassembly counts and quality, report discrepancies.
- Establish methods with workers to meet work schedule deadlines.
- Ensure proper PPE use and safe work practices.
- Maintain high-quality standards of work.
- Resolve work problems and suggest productivity and quality improvements.
- Ensure adherence to company rules, policies, and procedures.
- Monitor scheduled break times and escalate disciplinary actions as needed.
- Understand sequence of operations and equipment use.
- Coordinate daily tasks with other trade supervisors for clear communication.
- Manage inventory of materials and consumables to prevent shortages.
- Complete paperwork and maintain accurate records.
- Set goals and manage time efficiently.
- Demonstrate leadership, team building, supervision, and motivation skills.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of operations, warehouse, and transportation management.
- Knowledge of supplies, equipment, services ordering, and inventory control.
- Knowledge of local and federal regulations including AOHS and Employment Standards Code.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Customer service orientation.
- First Aid certification is an asset.
- Experience with manufacturing safety practices and processes from raw materials to finished products.
