Job summary

VHA Home HealthCare is seeking an Extreme Cleaner to provide practical household assistance to clients in Ontario. You will perform cleaning tasks, decluttering, and support activities to encourage independence, following client service plans and confidentiality policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year's experience in private or institutional cleaning.
• Experience with vulnerable clients (age-related health conditions or mental disabilities) is an asset.
• Ability to read and write English (Grade 8 level).
• Flexible to support a diverse client group.

Responsibilities

• Performs home cleaning services: wash floors, sinks, surfaces; vacuum, dust, wipe; laundry; empty wastebaskets; polish furniture; clean interior windows; organize cupboards and fridges.
• Performs tasks according to client specifications and using client-provided products within a preset time allowance.
• Completes time-keeping protocols and submits them per policy.
• Participates in team meetings and project teams as requested.
• Contributes to workload sharing for positive results.

They will work with diverse client groups to meet public health standards. Responsibilities include, de-cluttering and discarding of unwanted items, washing walls, floors and windows, doing laundry, cleaning and sanitizing appliances, cupboards and closets. Household and support activities are performed in such a manner as to encourage independence of client and the prevention or delay of institutionalization. All activities are conducted within the client service plan and the policies, procedures and standards of confidentiality of VHA.Key Areas of AccountabilityVHA's Extreme Cleaners have the following key areas of accountability, but not limited to:Performs a combination of home cleaning services including washing floors, sinks, and related surfaces; vacuuming, dusting and wiping down fridge and stove exterior; laundry and ironing; emptying wastebaskets; polishing furniture; washing accessible interior windows; and cleaning and organizing the inside of cupboards, stoves and fridges.Performs tasks according to the client's specifications, and using the client's products and equipment, according to a pre-set time allowance as arranged by the agency.
