Job summary

Canada Pension Plan Investment Board is seeking an Analyst, External Funds Operations to support the External Portfolio Management teams in transaction management, asset servicing, investment accounting, valuation, and reporting. This role focuses on hedge funds, co-investments, and managed accounts with emphasis on accuracy, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate has an undergraduate degree in finance or related field and 1–3 years of experience in investment

Qualifications

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
• Interest in automation, process optimization, and AI-enabled tools is a plus.
• Professional designations such as CFA, CPA, or CBV are assets.

Responsibilities

• Support investment closings by reviewing documentation, setting up systems, processing entries, and coordinating settlements.
• Manage transaction lifecycles, monitor deal pipelines, reconcile records, and ensure accurate reflection of investments.
• Prepare or review monthly NAV calculations for external pooled funds and analyze valuation differences.
• Contribute to financial statements, note disclosures, and portfolio analysis with accurate data and insights.
• Support processing of complex investments, understanding impacts on trading, reporting, and performance.
• Maintain policies and procedures, identify process improvements, and leverage AI-enabled tools to enhance efficiency and data integrity.
