Job summary

Everclean, part of Kandor Management Corp., is hiring an Exterior Cleaner to perform daily outdoor cleaning, snow removal, and maintenance at the mall exterior. You will care for sidewalks, entrances, green spaces, storage areas, and loading docks, following health and safety guidelines and contract requirements.

The role requires physical stamina, the ability to operate cleaning equipment, and reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• Ability to safely operate and maintain housekeeping and supplies.
• Ability to safely operate and maintain tractor and snow removal supplies.
• Ability to physically perform the duties of the position.
• Ability to attend work on a regular, on-going, consistent basis.
• Ability to understand and implement all policies and procedures as they relate to the janitorial work to be performed.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Must be able to perform all cleaning tasks.
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods.

Responsibilities

• Snow and ice removal as directed by the Property Manager.
• Maintain the tractor and other equipment as directed by the Property Manager.
• Clean exterior storage areas.
• Wipe and empty exterior garbage cans and ashtrays.
• Litter pick sidewalks, parking lot, landscaped areas and loading docks.
• Sweep and pressure wash curb and islands; weed control.
• Move pallets and shopping carts to designated areas.
• Deploy and reposition parking lot barriers as required.
• Check graffiti on exterior walls and remove within 24 hours.
• Check exterior signs and report damages or hazards.
• Pressure wash mall and anchor entrances bi-weekly (June–October).
• Pressure wash Building D rear sidewalk bi-weekly (June–October).
• Pressure wash Building D garbage room bi-annually (spring/fall).
• Pressure wash all building perimeter sidewalks yearly before June 1.
• Check exterior doors and report damages.
• Clean up standing water or spills and label wet floors.
• Dust mop and wash service corridors.
• Check parking lot for potholes and report.
• Report low gas or snow removal supply levels.
• Respond to calls from the Property Manager/Lead Hand.
• Respond to fire/sprinkler alarms per procedures.
• Follow safety and security procedures.
• Assist customers with promotion/setup when required.
• Complete incident reports and maintain Exterior Risk Management Logs.
• Other reasonable requests.

Exterior Cleaner will perform daily cleaning and snow removal tasks outside of the mall. Cleaning and maintaining areas such as sidewalks, curbs, exterior entrances, green spaces, storage areas, and interior common areas. Tasks including snow removal, pressure washing, sweeping and dry/wet mopping . Cleans and entrances, green spaces, sidewalks, and other areas as per contract requirements. Follow all Health and Safety training provided.

Key Responsibilities:

• Remove snow and ice and apply sand/salt as directed by the Property Manager as per current Snow Management Plan.
• Maintain the tractor and other provided equipment as directed by the Property Manager as per current Snow Management Plan.
• Clean and maintain all exterior storage areas.
• Wipe and empty exterior garbage cans and ashtrays.
• Litter picks all sidewalks, parking lot, landscaped areas and loading docks throughout the property including the anchor tenants.
• Sweep, pressure wash and weed control sidewalk curbing and islands on a cycle basis to prevent build up.
• Remove pallets and shopping carts to designated areas.
• Deploy and reposition parking lot barriers as required.
• Check for graffiti on all exterior walls, lamp standards, doors, signs, garbage bins and loading docks and remove immediately (graffiti should be removed with 24 hours).
• Check all exterior signs (on and off the building) and wipe clean any dirt reporting any damages, missing signs, and or hazards.
• Pressure wash mall and anchor tenant entrances bi-weekly from June to October using Owner’s equipment removing gum and stains.
• Pressure wash Building D rear sidewalk bi-weekly from June to October using Owner’s equipment using a degreasing agent.
• Pressure wash and clean Building D garbage room bi-annually in spring and fall using Owner’s equipment using a degreasing agent.
• Pressure wash all buildings perimeter sidewalks yearly before June 1 st using Owner’s equipment.
• Check all exterior doors and wipe clean and report any damages. (Season/Weather dependent)
• Immediately clean up any standing water or spills in entranceways, service corridors, or any other floor surfaces in the center and indicate wet surfaces with "Caution - Wet Floor" signs until dry and safe from any potential hazard(s).
• Dust mop and wash service corridor floors using walk behind machines as required (indicate wet surfaces with "Caution - Wet Floor" signs until dry and safe from any potential hazard(s)).
• Check parking lot for potholes and report to the Property Manager the same day.
• Report low gas or snow removal supply levels to the Team Leader, Supervisor or Manager.
• Respond immediately to calls from the Property Manager, Lead Hand, Supervisor or Manager.
• Respond to fire and or sprinkler alarms as per emergency procedures.
• Always follow all basic safety and security procedures.
• Assist Customers with promotion, display, and/or table set-up when required or if requested to do so
• Complete all applicable incident report forms as required.
• Fill out and maintain Exterior Risk Management Logs.
