Job summary

Ausenco invites applicants for a Designer role in the Vancouver office within the Mechanical or Piping discipline. You will contribute to drawing production, piping layouts, isometrics, and equipment modelling for mineral processing projects.

We welcome recent graduates up to 3 years of relevant experience, with proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor, and familiarity with ASME/CSA codes. SmartPlant and P&ID experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

  • New graduate up to 3 years of relevant experience including the design of piping systems or the layout of process equipment.
  • Experience with AutoCAD 2D and 3D, Inventor (or SolidWorks/Solid Edge).
  • Working knowledge of ASME and CSA codes and standards.
  • Design experience in minerals and metals sector is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in multi-functional project teams; required.
  • Experience with SmartPlant and P&ID is strongly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Drawing production including generation of flow sheets, piping and instrumentation diagrams, piping drawings, isometrics, tie-in lists, valve lists and equipment lists.
  • Prepare high level 2D and 3D models of mineral processing equipment (belt conveyors, tanks, pumps, crushers, mills).
  • Coordinate designs with other disciplines.
  • Plan, organize and coordinate technical aspects of projects.
  • Ensure quality, quantity, cost and scheduling objectives are met.
  • Maintain drafting standards per Ausenco guidelines.
  • Work in multi-functional project teams.

We are currentlyseeking an energetic and enthusiastic Designer within the Mechanical or Piping disciplinesto be based in the Vancouver office.

About the role
  • Drawing production including generation of flow sheets, piping and instrumentation diagrams, piping drawings, isometrics, tie-in lists, valve list and equipment lists.
  • Prepare high level 2D and 3D models of mineral processing equipment such as belt conveyors, tanks, pumps, crushers, mills, etc.
  • Work with other disciplines in the overall assignment to coordinate designs.
  • Plan, organize and coordinate technical aspects of one or more projects.
  • Ensure that objectives related to quality, quantity, cost and scheduling are met.
  • Maintain consistent drafting standards across projects by adhering to Ausenco drafting standards.
  • Work effectively as a member of multi-functional project teams.
About you
  • New graduate up to 3 years of relevant experience including the design of piping systems or the layout of process equipment.
  • Experience in the use of AutoCAD 2D and 3D, Inventor (or equivalents such as Solidworks, Solid Edge, etc.)

Salary range:$53,000 – 70,000 annually
