Need a Nanny in Pointe-Claire Village is seeking an experienced, reliable, and highly self-directed housekeeper to help maintain a clean, organized home. The right candidate will own their work with hotel-level care and attention to detail, and be able to work independently.

The role offers 8–12 hours per week (Tue–Thu preferred, flexible). Responsibilities include thorough weekly cleaning, laundry, and rotational deep-cleaning, in a family environment with young children.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining a high-standard private home, luxury residence or hotel housekeeping preferred.
• Ability to work independently with good judgment.
• Comfortable with household routines in a family environment and respectful of privacy.

Responsibilities

• Thorough weekly housekeeping and cleaning.
• Maintaining general tidiness and order throughout the home.
• Washing bedding, making beds and resetting rooms.
• Vacuuming, mopping, dusting and detailed cleaning of kitchens and bathrooms.
• Adult laundry, including washing, drying, folding, ironing when required and putting clothing away.
• Quarterly and rotational deep-cleaning tasks.
• Rotational household maintenance and cleaning tasks.
• Monitoring household supplies and letting us know when stock is running low.
• Keeping cupboards, common areas and household items orderly and returning things to their designated places.

We are a warm, active family in the Pointe-Claire Village area looking for an experienced, reliable and highly self-directed housekeeper to help us maintain a clean, organized and well-run home. The Cedar Park train station is a 3 minute walk from our home.Both parents are busy professionals, and we are looking for someone who takes genuine ownership of their work and notices what needs to be done without needing to be repeatedly directed. This is more than a basic cleaning role. We are looking for someone who approaches the home with the care, consistency and attention to detail you would expect from luxury hotel-level housekeeping.WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORThe ideal person is naturally organized, observant and proactive. You should be someone who:- Notices something that needs attention and takes care of it without being asked- Completes each task fully from beginning to end — for example, laundry is washed, dried, folded/ironed and put away rather than left in a basket; dishes are cleaned, dried and returned to their place.- Leaves rooms completely reset, clean and tidy rather than simply cleaning surfaces.- Puts items back where they belong and respects the established organization and “functional geography” of the home.- Notices small details such as an empty soap dispenser, a dirty soap dish, something on the floor, an overflowing household item or something out of place and addresses it.- Maintains the same high standard of work consistently over time.- Can work independently without requiring a daily list of instructions or frequent reminders.We will provide a household manual outlining routines, preferred methods, rotational tasks and deep-cleaning schedules, but the right person should be comfortable managing their work independently and using good judgment.RESPONSIBILITIESRegular responsibilities will include:- Thorough weekly housekeeping and cleaning.- Maintaining general tidiness and order throughout the home.- Washing bedding, making beds and resetting rooms.- Vacuuming, mopping, dusting and detailed cleaning of kitchens and bathrooms.- Adult laundry, including washing, drying, folding, ironing when required and putting clothing away.- Quarterly and rotational deep-cleaning tasks.- Rotational household maintenance and cleaning tasks.- Monitoring household supplies and letting us know when stock is running low.- Refilling household products from available supplies, such as hand soap, dishwasher tablets and laundry products.- Keeping cupboards, common areas and household items orderly and returning things to their designated places.- Identifying and taking care of reasonable housekeeping needs as they arise.Children's laundry is handled separately by our nanny.SCHEDULEWe are currently looking for support 8-12 hours per week and adding an additional day of work as the role develops.Tuesday to Thursday is preferred but we can be flexible.No Fridays or weekends.For the right person, there may eventually be an opportunity for this position to expand into a Housekeeper / House Manager role with additional days and responsibilities.THE PERSON WE ARE LOOKING FORYou should be:- Highly detail-oriented.- Extremely reliable and punctual.- Proactive and comfortable taking initiative.- Self-directed and able to prioritize your own work.- Efficient without sacrificing quality.- Naturally tidy and organized.- Consistent — maintaining the same standard week after week.- Comfortable working in a home with young children and respectful of naps and household routines.- Discreet and respectful of a family's privacy and belongings.- Comfortable receiving feedback and learning how the household operates.You are welcome to listen to music or podcasts while working using personal headphones, provided you remain aware of the household environment.Previous experience maintaining a high-standard private home, luxury residence or hotel housekeeping environment is strongly preferred.We are looking for someone interested in a long-term position who will take pride in knowing the home well and helping it stay consistently clean, organized and cared for.
