Job summary

Woodmac Inc. in Mississauga, ON is seeking a Carpenter who is self-motivated with good interpersonal skills. The chosen candidate will start as soon as possible. This is a permanent, full-time position located in Mississauga, Ontario.

The role requires reading blueprints and drawings, preparing layouts per building codes, and performing carpentry tasks with various materials. Strong English communication and 2–3 years of related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• The candidate must be fluent in English.
• There are no standard education requirements such as a bachelor's degree, a certificate, or a diploma.
• Ideal candidate will have 2–3 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs.
• Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements.
• Prepare layouts in accordance with building codes, using measuring tools.
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
