Job summary

Paul Davis Restoration is seeking an experienced Carpenter to restore residential and commercial properties damaged by fire, water, or storms. You will work with Project Managers and reconstruction teams to deliver quality workmanship and exceptional customer service on every project.

The role involves framing, drywall, finishing, doors, flooring, cabinet installation, and minor concrete work, plus reading drawings, adhering to Alberta building codes, maintaining safe sites, and mentoring

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of carpentry experience, restoration experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of residential and commercial construction practices.
  • Working knowledge of Alberta Building Code.
  • Valid driver's license with clean abstract.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.

Responsibilities

  • Perform residential and commercial carpentry, including framing, drywall installation, finishing and trim work, doors, flooring, cabinet installation, and minor concrete work.
  • Complete reconstruction projects to Paul Davis standards, project specs, and Alberta codes.
  • Read drawings, scopes of work, and work orders.
  • Identify scope changes and communicate promptly.
  • Maintain clean, safe, organized job sites; operate company vehicles and tools.
  • Mentor apprentices and labourers; provide exceptional customer service.

What You'll Do

As a Carpenter, you'll play a key role in restoring residential and commercial properties damaged by fire, water, storms, and other disasters. You'll work alongside Project Managers and Reconstruction teams to deliver exceptional workmanship and customer service.


Your responsibilities will include:



  • Performing all aspects of residential and commercial carpentry, including:

    • Framing

    • Drywall installation and repairs

    • Finishing and trim work

    • Doors

    • Flooring

    • Cabinet installation

    • Minor concrete work



  • Completing reconstruction projects to Paul Davis quality standards, project specifications, and Alberta building codes.

  • Reading and interpreting drawings, scopes of work, and work orders.

  • Identifying deficiencies or changes in project scope and communicating them promptly.

  • Maintaining clean, safe, and organized job sites.

  • Operating and maintaining company vehicles, tools, and equipment.

  • Mentoring apprentices and labourers while promoting safe work practices.

  • Providing exceptional customer service while interacting professionally with homeowners, business owners, subcontractors, and teammates.

  • Completing daily documentation, time records, and material tracking accurately.

  • Participating in an on-call rotation and occasional overtime when required.


What We're Looking For


  • Alberta Journeyman Carpenter Certificate (or recognized equivalent) is an asset.

  • Minimum 3+ years of carpentry experience (restoration experience is an asset).

  • Strong knowledge of residential and commercial construction practices.

  • Working knowledge of Alberta Building Code.

  • Valid Driver's Licence with a clean driver's abstract.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Positive attitude, professionalism, and reliability.

  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
