Job summary

Qualifications

  • Oversee development and implementation of climate action strategies.
  • Experience with senior management and strategic action.
  • Budget planning and resource management experience.
  • Experience managing staff and HR processes (unionized environment an asset).
  • Background in programs/services for natural resource/environment work.
  • Proven collaboration with First Nations, other governments and external partners.
  • Experience leading intergovernmental working groups and cross- government councils.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership for climate change strategies and initiatives.
  • Advise senior officials on complex policy decisions balancing multiple factors.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with federal, provincial/territorial, municipal and Indigenous governments.
  • Lead staff through change, ensure alignment with priorities and accountability.
  • Foster an inclusive, high-performing workplace and allocate resources accordingly.
